The Word of God or the God of Word? Is there a difference? Yes, there is. As we use the term, the "Word of God" means a book called the Bible. That's not necessarily all there is to that expression, as John 1:1 and I John 1:1 tell us, it was the Word that created the Universe, so the Word of God is really important. However, as we think of the Bible, we should not give to it the importance of the Person it tells us about.
In college I had a Church History professor who almost every lecture would warn us, "The symbol tends to take upon itself the importance of the thing symbolized."
Do not let that happen to you.
Respect the Word of God. Yes.
Worship, however,
the God of that Word. It is He the Bible exalts. Give God glory. Worship Him, not the Bible.
